LIFESKILLS
Stress in the home and workplace is increasing, 75% of ill health may be stress related. The current economic climate is creating tension and disharmony in our personal and public lives.
Stress is a disorder of well-being that is triggered by such pressures as the demands of work, interpersonal conflicts, money worries or family problems - and often a combination of similar factors.
Lifeskills is a professional approach to using natural therapies and lifeskills techniques as an aid to stress reduction and to promote health and well-being.

Individuals or groups can benefit from
- Meditation.
- Breath work.
- Simple exercises and stretches.
- Positive thinking.
Lifeskills is a complementary therapy and not a replacement for counselling or medical treatment but is based on the principle that the mind, body and soul are closely intertwined and reflect each other. Lifeskills techniques and meditation allow the mind and body time to relax and absorb life and changes, when we have insufficient time to allow this normally natural process to occur.
As a Lifeskills Consultant, I am qualified to teach, give talks, demonstrations and workshops to small groups with the aim of empowering individuals in their own stress management.

MEDITATION
Meditation - is now recognised as a powerful tool in managing stress, focusing attention, and increasing brain power.
Scientists at Liverpool John Moors University found people who meditated had higher speeds, made fewer errors and were less distracted.
Exeter University reports depression can be helped through meditation; four months after starting Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, which is based on yoga and meditation, 3/4 of patients felt well enough to stop taking anti-depressants.
